"To" line on composing page

Does anyone know of a fix or tweak to eliminate the recipient's e-mail
address from showing twice in the "To" line on the composing page? In other
words, if I type the recipient as johndoe @ null.net, I am trying to
eliminate it showing as:
johndoe @ null.net <johndoe @ null.net>.

Outlook Express doesn't show this duplication in the To line, and I'd like
to do the same in Windows Mail.

TIA,

George

P.S. If it's a Registry tweak, I can deal with that.

Windows Mail will show both the contact name & the contact email address.
If you type in an address not in your contacts folder, then it will show
twice. You can't change that.

Also, if you send to multiple recipients, and don't want them to see each
other's
email address, use the BCC: field. If you don't see the BCC field, in the
compose window,
click on View - Show All Headers.

Dave,

Do you mean that this only occurs when you type the recipient's address and
not when you select it from the Contacts folder? Because it shows twice
even when using the Contacts folder, at least in my case.

If the Windows Mail auto-complete worked correctly (which it doesn't), it
would put the name of your stored contact & the email address in the To:
field.
When you type an email address in, it doesn't have a name to put there, so
it repeats the address.

The newer Windows Live Mail works better, and the auto-complete function
only shows the email address in addition to the contact name when the
contact has more than one stored.

You need to edit that contact so it has a proper first name and last name.
The email address will be listed twice only if the name is missing.
