I hope I didnt read your reply the wrong way,
I will try not to be offended by it,...
That's good of you, to try to not be offended when someone tries to be
helpful.
I was trying to get back in contact with Klatuu,...
Again, I suggest you read the FAQ to which I provided a link. Newsgroups can
be immensely helpful if you understand what they are for, and how they work,
and don't try to "work against that." One of the basic things is that
newsgroups aren't just for putting two people in contact for free
consulting, but for exposing your questions to a wide range of knowledgeable
people. And they are about sharing the questions and answers with others who
read the newsgroup who may have similar problems.
in which he did find the reference that I was talking
about, it was not misquoted.
Yes, and that is where he responded, following up to the same thread, good
advice that you'll find in the FAQ I referenced. Look below... you quoted
that post as "11/17/06 Form Not Responding to Query" but, in fact, the
subject is "Form Not Reading Query" posted on the same date, by you, with a
number of responses from Klatuu. Perhaps to you, those subjects are
identical?
I'd be honored if I was talented enough in Access to
be able to volunteer help.
And, it is entirely possible that the time will come sooner than you think.
There are many of us who mostly answer questions here who started in the
newsgroups knowing only that Access looked to be a good software tool, and
that we wanted to work with others to learn more about it. It's amazing what
thirteen years, and researching and testing answers, and responding to
thousands (in some cases, tens of thousands) of questions will do to build a
store of knowledge on a a subject.
Hopefully that day will come, but for now I am struggling
trying to get my 1st database system to work properly.
And, I wish you good fortune with it, and hope that my comments will have
helped you to better use the newsgroups to get past the stumbling blocks.
