Tired of K7S5A PRO, What should I buy to replace it.

I am on of the lucky one's to have an ECS K7S5A PRO 5.0, with the Loss
CMOS problem when the power is removed from the PSU. I can turn it
off with no problem with if I lose power while it is turned off then I
lose the CMOS data. Currently I don't know of a fix. The older K7S5A
1.1 has a simple fix but I haven't seen any thing for the PRO. I am
looking for a stable motherboard to use with my AMD 2100+ and 2x512mb
PNY PC2700 DDR memory. This PC will be an extra PC for the house and
doesn't need to be top of the line. I need stability rather than
fancy features. I would like to have USB 2.0 and a 10/100 LAN. Does
anybody have any recommendation? I would like to stay in the $50-$75
range if possible.

There is no proven fix for the K7S5A lost CMOS problem. Some people have
achieved a degree of success by using various mods, details here

To replace the board, consider a Syntax KT266. These are available very
cheaply in the UK and provide everything you are looking for. I am using
several without problems.

Inexpensive UPS to keep the PSU running during the occasional power
outage? I've got one of these and it does come in handy at times (it
comes with software that saves your documents, exits all programs,
then shuts down the computer).

Take a look at the Biostar M7NCD. I have bought two from Newegg and been
running them since December. They only use DDR RAM, unlike the option to use
SDRAM or DDR with the K7S5A, but the board has shown itself to be stable and
inexpensive ($53 incl shipping)
