tiny tabs

I am not sure what happened, but my tabbing is coming out tiny. I made a
format for paragraphs that were indented and put that on everything. Then I
changed part of the area at the end (section titles) as headings. Now when I
'enter' after one of those lines to put in some notes that are indented (sort
of like an outline just to make some notations that stand out), the tab
spacing is miniscule. Literally. It's probably 1/5 the distance of a space
character.

What's up?
 
When you set a hanging indent, Word automatically sets a tab stop where the
indent is. Could that be part of your problem? Or perhaps you have changed
the default tab interval (Format | Tabs)?
