timing of last slide

Hello,
I'm creating my very first powerpoint presentation and
have a quick question. I have rehearsed the timings and
added music but I need the last slide to stay on the
screen and not go to black at end of show.
I'm using 2002 and don't know how to get the slide to stay
on the screen.
Help?
Thanks,
Brenda

Brenda:

I have 2003 and there is an option to shut off the black screen, But if
you select play music through ( how many slides you have should be
selected.) and then when you change the timings for the last slide, you
have to rehearse the timing to coordinate with the end of the music.

If I understand your question correctly, I think you want to set the timing for the last slide so it does not automatically advance. I can't verify the exact menu options for you because I am on my Mac at home running (believe it or not) PowerPoint 98 (I really need to upgrade). But on my machine, while looking at the last slide, I can choose Slide Transition from the Slide Show menu and set the slide to advance on mouse click. Do this after you have rehearsed the timings; this should override the timing for the last slide only and keep the last slide up until you click the mouse
