Timesheets

Hi out there I am trying to create a timesheet for a number of people I
know the start time and also the finish time and luch break is 45 mins. I
want to be able to insert start time - finish time minus break of 45 mins so
that the sheet works out the actual time eg start 08:00 finish 18:00 break
0.45 working time 11.25 hrs I cannot seem to find out how to do this.

Thomas,

I'm not sure about your maths but I bet the employees are if they get paid
11.25 hours for working 08:00 - 18:00 :)

If your happy with an answer of 9.25 hours thry this formatted as 'General'

=((B1-A1)*24)-0.75

If you type your times in as 8:00 and 18:00 you can do the math
directly.
You could either include the actual times of the breaks (in case it
doesn't work out to exactly 45 min) like this:
8:00 12:45 13:15 18:00 and the formula would look something like
=(E6-D6)+(C6-B6)

Be careful because .45 and 0:45 are very different and Excel likes to
display the date info even if you don't want to see it.

Also, your total in your example should be 9:15.
