Time Sync problem

B

Bill Lewis

Upon installing Vista (Home Premium - 'clean install') I began getting the
error message depicted in the screen-shot .jpg shown here:

https://rtc2.one.microsoft.com/MediaUpload/{603FC5DF-08AA-4D36-932A-7209A99B7057}/time.jpg

I tried resolving the issue using the support live chat. That was a mistake
and turned into a big joke.

How do I go about getting my computer's clock accuracy (stratum) to be equal
to, or greater than, the host's?

Any help is appreciated.

Try using the pull down and selecting from the different time servers
available. I get this message from time to time and usually if I just try 2
or 3 different time servers one of them will connect and sync the clock.
This is an annoyance and one I'd wish they would fix. Good luck.

Your firewall may be blocking port 123 (Network Time Protocol Port.)
Allow the port access.

I think this is usually caused when you have your clock set to far off to
begin with. Check the date, time, am-pm, and time-zone to make sure you are
at least close to being correct.

I got it too and don't know the cause but I switched the timeserver to
pool.ntp.org and it works fine.

I went through the list of time sources and got the IP addresses for each.
I typed each into the Server: box and each connected just fine. Once I did
that for the entire list the server names now work too.

Go figure??
