About 6 weeks ago I left for a 2 week vacation. I pulled the plug on my
computer for the 2 weeks I was gone and when I returned and restarted the
computer the time and date was wrong. It seems that now when ever I shut the
machine down and pull the plug (which is quite often since I live in the
lightening capital of the country) I have the same problem. Originally I had
gotten the message that the battery may be bad and I replaced it. The
problem remains.

I have a Compaq 6000 running XP Home Edition.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

in time properties use:
time.windows.com
also pick on sync button
this fixes it for my computer.

I tried to access times.windows .com and received this message:

Any other suggestions?

you dont goto time.windows.com

Double click the clock at the bottom right of the task bar. GOTO Internet
Time tab at the top of the window, and CHECK the box that says
Automatically syncronize with an internet time server. And then chose one
in the box, time.windows.com is one of them.
