Time Format Problems.

I am using Windows XP pro .The clock in my taskbar is presently
showing the time as 02.35 when it is 14.35 .When I click on it the
clock/calendar comes up as usual and the time shows as 14.35 so the
question is why does it show as what looks like a morning time when it
is actually an afternoon/evening time ..It's a small matter as I
obviously know what time of day it is but I was just wondering ...I am
in the Greenwich MeanTime /Dublin,Edinburgh,Lisbon,London Time Zone .

I also have the ongoing problem of the date format changing back to
MM/DD/YY every time I shut down and reboot ..Grrrr.!!!..Neither of the
fixes suggested worked ,unfortunately..

Hi Stuart,

What you are seeing is the 24 hour clock or military time.
Go to Control Panel - Regional and Language Options - Customize Tab -
Time Tab and adjust the Time format as needed. Lower case letters to
view a 12 hour clock, and upper case letters to view the 24 hour
clock.

If the problem persists, take a look at this fix previously posted by
Alex Nichol MS-MVP:
I suggest that you change the setting to a different one - include
changing the separator - and Apply. Disable the clock in the taskbar
properties. Then start over and put back the settings you want.

Sometimes a setting like this affects more than one place and they can
get out of sync with each other - changing things like this and
changing
back then resets things everywhere and often puts the matter right.

Regional and Language Options. Click Customize and on the Time page,
set the format as HH.mm.ss for 24 hour clock, hh for 12 hour, Apply OK
out and (I think) reboot for the setting to come into effect
