ticking clock in PowerPoint

How do you add a current time to the slides in PowerPoint? I tried to insert
the date and time, and to choose automatic update, but the clock does not
update. Basically I am looking for the same clock that is in the task bar --
in some areas there is no clock, and this would be great to have.

(this may be a duplicate inquiry -- I lost connection previously)

Thank you very much -- this is exactly what I was looking for! Maybe you
should implement it in the main program.

This is a user-to-user forum. Nobody here has control over what Microsoft
chooses to implement in PowerPoint.
