ti4200 - 9600xt - questions

I assuming both of these cards draw about the same number of watts ?

Also, this is my first ati card. I'm hoping the 2d quality will be as
good or better than my geforce ? Also, judging by the benches I have
seen I think I will get a decent upgrade ? (comp is a dualie, 2 x
2400+ mp's.) The xt seems to shine with antialising and ansiotropic
filtering as compared to the ti4200

Is the bad driver wrap unfounded and/or corrected ?

Basically I just want a smooth transition, a decent increase in
performance and the same stability - will I get this with this
upgrade?

comments please....
thanks

I just went from Ti4200 > 9800Pro... smooth no problems. But you
should know that ANYTHING can happen.

And I'm using Windows98 to boot!!!

1 - Nvidia Remove drivers
2 - replace card
3 - cancel XP/NT2000 auto driver thingy
4 - Use the latest CAT 3.9 drivers (downloaded before you upgrade the
card)
5 - rinese and spit.

Use detonator destoryer if you feel you must or just in case...
wouldn't hurt.

Use detonator destoryer

I went here http://www.guru3d.com/detonator-destroyer/ and it sez that
WinXP support is coming soon. Do you have a link for a newer version
of this program?

Never mind,,, WinXP users should look for Detonator R.I.P
http://content.guru3d.com/index.php?page=detonatorrip&menu=0

This is the correct link for the .NET Framework which is required for
R.I.P.

http://download.microsoft.com/download/a/a/c/aac39226-8825-44ce-90e3-bf8203e74006/dotnetfx.exe

Gotta go,

Just use Driver Cleaner, don't bother with the daft 20Meg net framework download.
