Thumbnail problems

I view all of my video files in Thumbnail mode but now I
cant see the small preview of what the video is in the
tumbnail icon. Now all I get is the Windows Media Player
icon and not the small preview of what the video file is.
I used to be able to view this at one time. I am in
currently in Thmbnails view for my video files and I have
tried to refresh with no luck. Can anyone help?
