Thrashing on Paging File

HELP!!!!!

My system is driving me crazy!!!

Everything will be working fine for a while then, my system hard drive
justs gets pounded.

Using hard disk monitoring software I see MILLIONS (yes MILLIONS) of
read/writes being done to:

c:\Drive Information\NTFsLdf.dat

I think this is the paging file (not sure). Most often occurs when I am
in Internet Explorer but, also happens in Visual Foxpro, Outlook
Express, etc.

System wil "come back" after a few minutes. Viewing task manager shows
millions of read/writes for whatever program I happen to be running at
the time.

It can happen at any time. Right after a re-boot or an hour later.
Sometimes occurs multiple times in a row. Other times may be good for a
few hours.

I'm stumped. Any Ideas?
