clone computer 2 hard drives, dual booting xp pro and 2000
server.

problem occurs sometimes during bootup,at the xp pro
screen with the green dots it will stop and then must
restart with tower on/off switch and retry 2/3/4 times
before it will get past this screen.

other times it will boot past that screen and into
windows, amount of times it will work and wont work
appears random.

when it wont work it stops and shows the green dots no
longer moving, when it will work it will light my floppy
drive and the green dots will keep moving, if the floppy
light doesnt come on then the dots will stop and will
have to manually shut off on and retry sometime 3/4 times.

server is on c, xp on e(2nd drive), have many partitions
(dont think this is a factor) boot.ini is exactly as it
should read no extra letters spaces words etc.

even though this is during the loading of windows I
suspect this is a hardware issue of some kind.

If any mvp/expert knows this is software would like to
hear what software/program it is?

system is as clean of viruses/spyware as anyones can be.

randomnness of the issue is frustrating, while all
responses considered, this would be best answered by only
those with experience with this exact issue and technical
experts in the area described.

Green dots? I would suspect a video card or driver that needs updating

I think he means the Cylon-like animation on the Boot Screen. Could be
almost any hardware driver combo.
