"This page cannot be displayed" error

Tony King

After downloading the latest IE 6 patch, Q 828750, my
daughter's laptop continually displays a "This page
cannot be displayed" error. It does this immediately she
presses ENTER or hits GO, before it has had time to even
go looking for the web page. She can, however, still
access the Internet through Outlook. Does anyone have any
ideas?

Mike Burgess sent me this and it seemed to help. You might want to try it.

You may need to clear your TIF as you may have a corrupt file there.

Close all instances of OE and IE
Control Panel | Internet Options | General tab
Click the "Delete Files" button, when prompted place a check in:
"Delete all offline content", click OK
Click the "Clear History" button, click OK.
Click the Settings button, adjust the TIF size to 50 mb, click OK
