I downloaded a an Oracle database driver so I could move some data into our
SQL Server but I could not open the file.

Error:
"this file came from another computer and might be blocked to help protect
this computer"
Thanks Mickey!

I found the answer on Google that describes how to fix the problem but there
is probably still code running out there that needs to be destroyed. You need
to run gpedit.msc and change a setting under Administrative Templates. Check
Google for the specifics.

I am trying to find out which Microsoft update did this to my computer and
remove it.

I will probably need to restore to a check point but this would be much
easier if I could uninstall the specific Microsoft update.

I am not sure if restoring to a check point will roll back the Microsoft
update.

I am so sick of Microsoft, I wonder how many relationships they destroy
every day.

Can you just provide me with the specific update that did this so I can
remove it!

You could try and right-click on the file in question click properties and
on the general tab of the properties box at the bottom should be a security
section. Click the unblock button then ok out. HTH

Thanks for the reply.

While this sounds like fun to do a few thousand times a week. My customers
won't see the humor in this answer. Can Microsoft destruct any faster?

I really need to start replying to all those surveys Microsoft keeps sending.

I do feel sorry for all the help desk people having to listen to all the
anger that Microsoft is generating.

It doesn't matter, I have the answer.
I will just write a program to undo this Microsoft bug for others.
I just wanted to know which "Microsoft update" to remove so I wouldn't need
to write something.
