Third-party vendors recommendations for Scanning and OCR/OMR

Hi all,

We're in the design phase of an application that will involve both
scanning and recognition of scanned documents. The recognition piece
will involve primarily OMR, rather than OCR.

We're shopping for a third party vendor to use for the scanning and
recognition part of our app. There are two vendors we're thinking
about:

1. Pegasus Imaging (http://www.pegasusimaging.com/index.htm)
2. LeadTools (http://www.leadtools.com/)

I'd like it to be a fully managed .NET solution, rather than an interop
to an Active-X control. Both of these vendors offer .NET components as
part of an imaging solution. Our requirements include the need to
support both TWAIN and ISIS scanners, and perform OMR/OCR and barcode
recognition.

Does anyone have experience with either of these vendors? What
recommendations can you make? Are there other vendors that we should
be considering?

I have expereince with leadtools component. I could not make their stuff to
work in managed application. The results were pretty bad. And when I tried
to contact their support, the response was pretty bad. They did not reply to
my questions for few days. Then they send me a new sample project to work
with and even that did not work. I guess mostly it was because of their
documentation not being very clear.
