things that don't work in XP

Rhonda

number one, I can't find my "product ID". my XP Pro
does not have any of the names/places in the instructions
to find product ID and can't get service w/out it!
second, my automatic updater, task scheduler,
screensvaer and such downloaders, coupon printer (to
print coupons), and WordPerfect backups do not work! how
do I get them to do what they're supposed to do??

Product ID for getting service is found at Control Panel - System, on
the General page, under your name as 'Registered to'

Note that it is *not* the 25 character Product Key you used to install,
which you should make sure you have safe, written down, and do not lose

The Belarc Advisor builds a detailed profile of your installed software and hardware, including Microsoft Hotfixes, and displays the results in your Web browser. All of your PC profile information is kept private on your PC and is not sent to any web server.

After you dnload the Belarc Advisor, launch it, and toward the bottom you will see Software Licenses. WinXP Registration code & Product Key will be listed there.
Hope this helps!

Indeed, do not lose your product key(s). After my last move I discovered the
box containing all such information had been lost. I now have 3 [*LEGAL*]
expensive Microsoft software products I cannot use because their bugs and
security lapses cannot be upgraded/fixed. My appeals to Microsoft have gone
ignored. I can only guess they would rather I buy new copies. No way--I now
use Open Office and love it.

For your other problems you need to compose a better post with more
specific information on the problems. Review the links below on how to
make a good post and resubmit one. Good luck.
