Sometimes even with 2 applications open I get ht following error message

There isn't enough memory to perform this operation. Closxe unneeded
programs and try the operation again.

Closing applications does not work. Only quitting Access works.

Any help?

For a second there I thought that we could just say that it's not an Access
problem. Then you added the last sentences. ;-)

How much memory does the computer have? 256 mb is about the minimum and 512
MB is much, much better.

Make sure that your virus protection is up to date plus run a good spyware
program like Ad Aware or SpyBot to see if something else is going on with
your computer.

Open up Task Manager and see what is using up all the memory and CPU. Access
is a CPU hog, but doesn't hit memory all that hard unless you have a very
complicated application.

Do you shut down the computer at least once a week or more? You might have
another program with a memory leak and a reboot will reclaim it all.

What operation are you trying to accomplish? I've seen this error
arise when (for example) trying to change the size or other properties
of a field in a large table; Access attempts to copy the entire table
into memory before writing it back out changed, and fails. There are
other approaches that avoid this particular error.

Also remember to Close all Recordsets & Other Objects properly when done
with them

ie
Rs.Close: Set Rs=Nothing ' Skip close for Clones

Also if running reports with images (logo) create a subreport for the logo!
