Hello,

I have personally installed a full fresh copy of Windows XP weeks before.
Recently I've found that there is no Command Prompt icon/shortcut under the
Accessories menu. Using my Windows XP CD to re-install the Accessories
components did not sort the problem.

Does anyone know the reason ? It is customary that there should be an icon
of command prompt there.

Thank you

Does Start --> RUN --> CMD --> OK work?

Thanks for replying.
Yes using the Run feature works. My main concern is why a Command Prompt did
not appear ? I could create a shortcut, but why did it disappear in the first
place ?

Perhaps you dragged it from the start menu using your left mouse button with
the intention of creating a desktop shortcut. You need to use the right
mouse button for that.

Perhaps Micros~1 is STILL trying to discourage the use of MSDOS-type
commands (remember the foolishness with "FORCEDOS xxx.exe" in Win2000?).
