"The word is too long for the dictionary" error message.

I have always used Autocorrect and Spell Check in Microsoft Office Outlook
2003. Recently, it began giving me an error message when I hit Send that
says, "The spelling operation could not be completed. The word is too long
for the dictionary". I click OK twice and the message sends but it does not
spell check it. This happens even if there is no text in the message at all.

How can I clear this message and get Spell Check to work again?

Are you using Word as teh editor for Outlook? If yes, I would repost to a Word group for assistance - I have never seen that error message come up when using the native Outlook editor.

I don't know if I am using Word as my editor and don't know how to check. I
do know that the spelling function is working just fine in other Office
applications such as Word and PowerPoint.
