The value you entered isn't valid for this field

This error message occurrs in Access 2000 for a combo box
where the rowsource is set by a query. The error message
does not always occur. I can select the same value for
Combo Box 1 (which sets the values in Combo Box 2) and
there will be no error message. Select the same values
later and Access decides to display an error message "The
value you entered isn't valid for this field". I have
updated the workstation to SERVICE PACK 3. Any ideas would
be greatly appreciated.

Could you please give a little more information? It sounds like the
Bound Column of the combo box contains a text value, and the Control
Source is a numeric field (or vice versa). This can happen when you
have been snookered into using Microsoft's misleading "Lookup Field"
feature - a table field that's been defined as a Lookup may actually
contain a numeric ID, while what you *see* is the looked-up text.
