The system cannot find the file specified

When I try and open an excel attachment fro outlook it receive the following
error†The system cannot find the file specifiedâ€. The problem seems to be
when opening office 2007 files. I am running Office 2003.
I have tried checking and un-checking “ignore other applications’ and I have
cleared my browser history. Recommended in other posts.
The file will open but with the name “XI0000001(read only)
 
I have, there is an update now for a service pack 2, let me install that and
I will come back to you
 
I am having exactly the same issue and can't find a solution anywhere. The
only difference with mine is that when I try to open the XL file it opens
"book 1" and sends me the same message.
 
my problem seems to have sorted itself our or it was in one of the updates
not sure which on though
