"The RPC Server is unavailable" error when using Outlook automation

Hello everyone,

I have a .NET application that interacts with Outlook through automation.

One of my users just got an error message saying "The RPC server is unavailable"
while trying to access a Contact record from Outlook.

This user has been able to connect to Outlook through my application before
without problems.

Any ideas as to what could be causing this and how to solve it?
