Help. Whenever I try to do anything, like run an .exe file (such as to
install a print driver), try to open Event Viewer, or any other
Administrative Tool, run CMD As Admistrator (it will run normally), run
regedit, and so on, I get the error message "The requested resource is in
use." Creating a new administrative user account fails to fix it. I have
run Safety.live.com, Spybot, McAfee Security Center, and the PC is clean.
However everything runs fine if you login as Administrator. Is this how
Vista is supposed to work? I thought the Administrator account was not to be
used all the time, but that is the only account that doesn't cause this error
to appear. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Mark

No, this is a new Gateway laptop that has a single user account, and a test
account I set up to try to resolve the problem. I have no USB connected to
it. And I have not been able to find any reason for it, nor a way to
diagnose it.

Thanks,
Mark

Mark,

You may already be aware of this. If not, please see the links below.

Thanks for the links. Yes, I had activated the Administrator account, so it
shows when I start up. And, as I mentioned, if I login with the
Administrator account, everything works fine. But If I use by existing user
account (that is also an administrative account) or the administrator account
I created to test it, I get these darn errors. Vista is not able to function
at all because just about everything gets stopped by this error message.

Is there a way to inform Microsoft of this Vista problem?
