In too many instances, when I try to access web pages, I
get the message "The page cannot be displayed." I am very
adept in pc software, but this has me stumped.

I am using Internet Explorer version 6, SP1 and Windows
2000, SP4. I HAVE TRIED to resolve this problem by
following the steps in knowledge base article # 281679 and
with the suggestions on
www.generation.net/~hleboeuf/blankpge.htm. I have also
tried clearing the TIF file by: Closing all instances of
OE and IE. Going to Control Panel|Internet Options|General
tab, clicking the "Delete Files" button, placing a check
in "Delete all offline content" and clicking OK. Clicking
the "Clear History" button and clicking OK. Clicking
the "Settings" button, adjusting the TIF size to 50mb and
clicking OK.

Please help.

Thanks, Brian

First eliminate any scumware.
See

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
