Shawn

I have Windows XP Pro machines that I am trying to connect
to a Windows 2000 domain however each time I try to
connect the PC to the domain I receive the following error.
Your PC could not be connected to the domain because: The
network name could not be found.

I have added host/lmhost files to the PC
Renamed the PC
Moved the PC's into another workgroup
Enabled NETBIOS over TCP/IP
Created a computer account on the DC prior to moving the
PC into the domain... (here is the interesting thing, when
attempting to connect to the DC the process recognizes
that a computer account exists on the DC for the PC
soooo... aparently communication to the server works)
I have removed and re-installed DNS on the server
I can browse to the SYSVOL share of the server providing a
username and password.

However I still get the error.

Are you running AD on your W2K domain? Have you add a
computer on your W2K Server?

G.

AD is running on the server
None of the XP computers are able to join the domain
