I am running Win2000PRO on a Pentium3 laptop with 512meg
RAM and service pack 4.

I have been getting the following error a lot lately and
it is getting very annoying.

I posted this post some time ago and did not get any
response - so I am trying it once more.

Explorer.EXE - Application Error

The instruction at "0x05844564d" referenced memory
at "0x05844564d". The memory could not be "read".

Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program

I also get this error when using other applications. I
installed service pack 4 yesterday and it doesn't seem to
have corrected the problem.

HELP!!!!!!!!

Microsoft Internet Explrer 6.0 SP1?

If so that's the trouble. An uninstall will not fix it. See if this article helps. Not the exact same issue but you can try what it has there. If you don't get no joy from it just do:

Start | Run | regsvr32 thumbvw.dll | Ok | OK
