The envelope templates are not concforming to Postal automation

The envelope templates listed for downloads are beautifully designed but fail
to be read by Postal automated equipment.
There is a "readable zone" for the destination address. A majority of the
templates have the return address falling in to the readable zone. What
happens is the Postal machines read part of the return address: town and
zip and spray a barcode on the piece (front and back).
It is read and delivered to that barcode that is incorrect. Always have
the address
high on the piece of mail and the clip art below the retrun address. This
way it does not contaminate the "address field" and cause delay in the mail.

In my Postal career I have seen this for almost 23 years. We always see
these errors after people have printed up thousands of pieces. PLEASE, go
to the Post Office first before printing hundreds of envelopes. Ask for the
template that shows the barcode field and address field. See where your
return address falls in to the "readable zone." SAVE time money and costly
embarresment.

Another point is: One will never qualify for the "automated discounts" on
bulk mail wether it be FIRST CLASS or STANDARD MAIL.

Thanks for the information, Hans. However, this newsgroup is for discussion
concerning Microsoft Access, the database program. It's unlikely that the
people responsible for designing envelope templates will see your comments
here. A better place might be the 'Comment on this web page' link under the
'Things to do' heading at the Templates page itself.

I probably did post to the wrong page, thaank you for pointing that out.

It is the Access people that use mail merge and really do not know what they
are doing when it comes to mailings and automations. They pay a company a
few cents a piece to process for them, but they should look at the final
product before dispatching.
