What the difference between windows XP and windows 2000?

Less BS is bundled with 2K, plus you don't have to get MS's permission
to use it like with PA in XP. MS claims that XP has better memory
management, but from my experience with both, XP at work & 2K at home, I
have to reboot my work PC twice in eight hours to keep it from running
like a slug, but with 2K I can keep my PC on the whole weekend doing
much more memory intensive things than at work, but I rarely see any
appreciable sluggishness. YMMV.

The only thing that XP has that I would really want in 2K is ClearType
fonts. Everything else is Bullsh*t! Ands it's always nice to a dual
boot with 98SE, to run those programs that both 2K & XP choke on.
