The few times I've seen this it was caused by a corrupt .pst file. You can
start by running the Detect and Repair tool from the help menu. If that
doesnt work, do a search for scanpst.exe - run that and it will attempt to
repair the pst - no guarantees though. If worse comes to worse you may just
have to remove the pst and try importing it again.
I have been having the same problem for the past couple of months. I tried
running scanpst with no success. I then tried disabling the various add-ins
(Act!, Mobile Phone Tools) and my problem went away. Outlook now loads
extremely fast with no errors.
