The currency data type does not display the actual figures entered

My Access 2002 (Office XP) SP3 does not display the figures typed in the
'Currency' data type.
The default input mask is displayed i.e. £#,#00.00.
Assistance and advice much appreciated, thank you.

Use the Format property instead of the Input Mask property to control how
data is displayed. The input Mask property controls how data is entered.

Can I clarify my problem; I am NOT entering a 'format' pattern or an 'imput
mask' at the table design stage.

When I select the 'currency' data type any figure I enter in the designated
field is displayed as '#,#00.00'.

For example entering 150.75 displays as #,#00.00.

Your comments are very much appreciated.

Even though you aren't at the table design level, you are probably at the
form design level. As a test, what do you see in the table after you've
entered the data in the form and closed it?
