The clear filter from a a heading cell is grey out

I'm using excel 2007 an attempting to remove a filter from a heading cell.
however it is greyed out, can this be rectified....Thanks Mark

Possible problems...............

Sheet is protected.

Multiple sheets are selected.

The workbook is shared.
