That blankety-blank-blank 25 digit CD key

I've got a NetVista IBM Windows XP Home Edition. I recently had some hard
drive trouble causing me to reformat twice. I've also battled spyware, but
both of those problems seem to be fixed or at least contained at this point.

I managed to successfully install all the programs using the six CDs, but
Microsoft Word is giving me that 25 CD key problem. In other words, it's
wanting it and while I know I have the particular packaging with the product
CD on it somewhere, I don't quite know where that is.

I used Belarc Advisor ( http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html ) to check
on my computer for me, and it found keys for all the other products EXCEPT
Microsoft Word. The weirdest part was that all the keys for the programs on
the six CDs seem to be the same thing (XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX --
information removed for security reasons). However, when I try to enter
that key for Microsoft Word, it tells me it's an invalid key.

What can I do besides go out and spend an unreasonable amount of money for
the upgrade? I'm using Works et.al. setup 2001 if that helps any.

Look through the paperwork you got with the computer. There should be a
Certificate of Authenticity (probably pasted to the folder containing the
application CD) that will have the key code printed on it.
