The bill is on the way. :)

I think I mentioned about a year or so ago that IMO this has got to be the
most valuable group or any type forum for that matter on the Internet and on
Usenet. I dont think I have purchased any software except for scrapbooking
software in nearly 1 1/2 years and still have all the top of the line
quality software that I need.

The only thing I cant seem to find is a searchable db on the pricelessware
hp.

Yes, of the 20 or so groups I monitor, this is my favorite. Nice, kind,
helpful folks obsessed with quality Freeware make it the best.

Only thing I can't find in Freeware is a suitable all-in-1
CD-DVD-burner-copier. Well, that and a Freeware OS. :)

There are ... Linux distros. You can even try most of them without
installing just to see, called "Live CDs".

There's a Google search box and Google search links (newsgroup archives,
advanced search) on the home page. What do you want to do that requires
a searchable database?

Ditto. This is one of the best newsgroups on the NET. I have found many
great freeware/open source software from this group. This group is very
helpfull except for the ocassinal troll who comes on this group to
annoy people.

Sure. You do the work and I'll watch. ;) I dunno exactly what the OP
wants. . .

Sounds like a db program to search the site or the CD. Can you put
the filenames, types, etc., into an Access database? I can write the
program. I guess the database would have to be updated once a year.

I seem to see sites which let you search the site with a search "by google"
I found this link.
http://www.google.com/searchcode.html#utm_source=bizsols&utm_campaign=searchcodeC

which leads to this: http://services.google.com/searchcode2.html?accept=on

Hope this helps.

PWH has that already.

Yup :) and I think we've pretty well covered the waterfront. . .

You can search the entire site OR just the 2006 or ACF or ACFG
directories from the Google search box that's on every page. Each and
every PWH web page ALSO has links to an advanced Google search page (for
the entire site) AND links to advanced searches of the ACF and ACFG
newsgroup archives.
