thank god i have another computer with XP, cause Vista sucks. nothing is
compatable, can't play the same DVD's that i play on XP, Can't get Nero to
install, And I have a fax modemn on my computer that is totally useless
without Windows fax, which does not come with vista home premium, but does
with XP. and vista has a slow reaction time when opening and closing
programs. Can't even download a descent wallpaper. And to mention that
microsoft help and supports takes you around in circles. just sounding off
about my dissatifaction with Windows Vista, will not be recommending it to
none of my friends, may end up paying the extra $300.00 to reinstall XP on my
new computer. Thank you for letting me vent, needed it.

Hello,

What you say is true.. but many people will deny it, they will say that its
your computers fault,
or that you are stupid and you don't know anything about computers..
Then they will say its the third party software... and finally they will
tell you that vista is working fine on their computer and in fact it is
faster than XP.
Also to top all that, they will call you a troll just because you had the
nerve to say something bad
about their deity vista.

We both know the truth though don't we? And so do many many many many other
people
who at last is realizing the problems of vista.

I was warning people about these problems here for months even before vista
was released.. if you had come here you would have known beforehand...and
saved time and money...
Or at least you would be cautious....

XP, may you live long and prosper!

"I was warning people about..."
You have also been FALSELY calling people liars and that shows where
you really come from.
Your need to continually change names to hide behind another identity
shows much of you.

Your ineptitude with computers is not indicative of others abilities.

Now stop that Mr. Jupiter...

what you are saying is untrue.. and therefore you are a liar....

I dont change names to hide.. I do it in such a way that it cries out that I
am the same person...

"Jim Kirk", then "captain of the enterprise", and now "spocks buddy"... does
that seem like I am hidding?
LOL ... nope.. i just get bored with the same name... AND I like changing
it.
Just because you want to be boring, doesnt mean that everyone likes to do
the same.

Now continue using vista.. you will need 30 minutes for windows mail to load
in order to reply...

its ok.. you will get use to it.... in the mean time you can watch your
hard disk lite go like crazy.

Gee vista is fun!

Then I must have a problem. My Vista system is absolutely flawless and much
faster than my XP. Of course I have the latest drivers for all my software,
OMG! And I'm somewhat careful which web sites I go to. And I bought an
additional GB of RAM.

See your post 9 April of this year.
"WINDOWS VISTA AERO VS LINUX UBUNTU BERYL" thread, in this newsgroup.
You said "A classic combination of some partial truth combined with a
GROSS LIE, in order to misinform the world! Why do you lie?"

Do you still say it is untrue?
Do you deny this is you?

You stated I told a lie and then cowered off with another identity
ignoring the fact you had no basis to call me a liar.

I just proved my previous post was factual and NOT a lie as you
claimed.

"you will need 30 minutes for windows..."
WRONG, as usual, barely seconds for me.

"you can watch your hard disk lite go like crazy"
And WRONG again since I do not have any such problem.
You continue to demonstrate that either:
1. You have no real experience with Windows, particularly Vista and
have some need to bash what is unknown and feared by you.
2. Most of your Windows issues are rooted in the classic PEBKAC
errors.
Even though you seem to ASSUME all have the problems you have heard
of, reality is different since many do not have the problems as your
hate fantasy would like.
3. Or possibly something similar to the above.

You have called me a liar on two occasions and lack the ability to
prove your slanderous statements for even one of the times.
What does that make you?

I have made this same post several times - Compare the
microsoft.public.windowsxp.general newsgroup with the
microsoft.public.windows.vista.general newsgroup - the number of posts for
help are as numerous, and at times greater, for XP (Even after SP1 and SP2).

What's it mean? - beats me - only that someone will always have a problem
with an OS at the inception - in between - and when it's "replaced".!!

Sorry that you've had a bad experience but anytime a new OS wheter it be XP,
Linux, or Vista comes out there will be bugs to be worked out.

Post the specific problems you have, there are plenty of people here to
help. Give us the specs on your computer. What version of Nero? There are 3rd
party faxing programs out there (some even better than what XP provided), ask
around!

This the absolute best place to get answers for problems or concerns, many
of us have been here right from Vista Beta to the final release. I tend to
find user or newsgroups to be the best starting point to solve problems with
any software or hardware problems.

--------------------
I haven't had any trouble with Vista.
I just plain don't like the way they laid it out. Same with IE7 & the new
Office.
I have to support it in my job, so I will continue to learn it inside & out.
Throughout the Beta & RC builds, I complained about several irritating
"features".
MS put them in anyway.
I built a brand new system that exceeds every requirement for Ultimate by a
significant margin.
Have it OUR way at MS today.
Being 'different' doesn't mean better.
I never had any security issues that needed 'fixed' with XP, so all the hype
about the 'improved security' they added to Vista was a 'so what?' as far as
I am concerned.
To me, Vista looks like MS attempt to emulate the old AOL 'cater to
beginners' software.
Everyone has their opinion, mine is they messed up bigtime.
If you like it, great.
I am testing, using & learning other software as I believe the platform will
be less & less important as everything migrates to the web.
I have a dozen computers in my home, and only 1 has Vista.
Unless I am forced to buy another machine due to hardware failure, I won't
be adding anymore Vista machines for a LONG time.
And that P3 that won't run Vista has a new lease on life with an open source
OS.
I don't just complain, I actually take action.
On this one, I am voting with my wallet.
And Vista doesn't get my vote.

Bill Gates knows that there is no such thing as software without bugs...
that why when he was asked if new versions were to reduce bugs he said no...

they are to add features.

You can get a FAX program for Vista for 'bout $30:

[FAX software available at SnappySoftware]
http://www.snappysoftware.com/

Otherwise FAXing is available on Business and Ultimate editions of Vista.

Well, I guess you could try, or you can just throw in the towel.

Don't you think it might have gone better if you'd spent 10 to 15
minutes doing a little research to determine the compatibility of your
hardware and software *before* blindly rushing out and buying the newest
ans shiniest OS?

Actually, it demonstrates quite clearly that you're trying to disguise
yourself, but are hampered by a severe lack of imagination.
