TFTP is Trivial File Transfer Protocol and uses UDP so it is a conectionless protion with no
authentication. How you use TFTP will epend upon the purpose. TFTP is often used to update
BIOS or images of TCP/IP compliant hardware sch as Routers and managed Ethernet Switches.
A SOHO Router may initiate a TFTP get from the POV of a web page or you may use a TFTP
client to perform TFTP put to upload the BIOS or image.
While TFTP.EXE is a client file in some Win32 OS', it has to be placed into perspective of
teh functionality.
For example, I use a BootP-TFTP client to assign an IP address and configuration file to HP
JetDirect Print Servers based upon the MAC address of said JetDirect Print Server.
