Text wrapping in outline view

Is there a way to adjust the width at which point text begins to wrap in
outline view. Almost all of my headers end up wrapping. which makes it less
easy to read.

Why doesn't it utilize the horizontal screen space better?

If its not adjustable, is there a reason why i should appreciate the
setting? (I'm trying to be open minded about it)

Outline view is just another view into the document, and normally lays out
the text to the margins in page layout view, however for display purposes
only you can change that:-
Tools > options > view > outline and normal view > wrap to window - check
the box.
