Hi everyone,
I don't know how to make the text wrap when I'm editing a web page or any
other html file. The text goes too far out to the right, and I have to use
the bottom scroll bar to see what the rest of the text is. Why is this
happening? Thanks for any help.
Regards,
S. H.

You can set it to wrap in code / html view if you want, under Tools > Page
Options > HTML source.
However, be advised that "wrapping" can sometimes "break" the html.
So most folks choose to scroll -------->>>>>>>

I do.

Hey Steve,
Thanks so much for your reply. I'm having a nightmare with the website. Pow
Web deleted our entire site. I did not have it on my computer at home. I had
to go to www.webarchive.com to try to retrieve some of the files. I'm just
sick because I dont know the first thing about how to repair this site. I do
have it back up again, but it's all screwed up. Thank you for your input.

I'm using Office 2003.
I went to take a look at what you said.
I see Tools > Page Options > but I do not see HTML source. I do see "Allow
line breaks within tags." Is that the same thing?
What am I missing here?
Thank you.

Steve...
I'd like to ask you one more thing. Actually I just looked and I'm using
Front Page 3.
Do you know if Wordpad is part of Front Page or part of Microsoft Word?
I just wondered which programs have to be installed to have Word Pad
available.
Thank you for your help and patience.
S. H.

Both WordPad and Notepad are installed by default when Windows is installed.
It will be in Start > Programs > Accessories.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for replying. You say when "Windows" is installed. You don't mean
when Office or Word or Front Page, right? I have a friend who is running
Windows XP home and she can't find WordPad. That's a part of Windows? I
wanted to try to help her make Word Pad active and available.
Thank you.

WordPad is part of Windows and is not dependent on whether or not Office is
installed.

Search the computer for "wordpad.exe". It should be located in:
"C:\Program Files\Windows NT\Accessories\wordpad.exe"

By default, the shortcut can be found in "Start | Programs | Accessories |
WordPad". It's always possible that your friend may have accidentally
deleted the shortcut from the menu. If it's not there, search the computer
for "wordpad.exe". It should be located in:
"C:\Program Files\Windows NT\Accessories\wordpad.exe"

Once you find the file, right click on it and select "Send To | Desktop
(create shortcut)" and it will place a new shortcut to WordPad on the
desktop.

Thanks so much for this information.
I guess I just know so little about windows and everything else... including
life, etc. Thank you for further help. This is so nice... this newsgroup.

been getting some great deals from www.bookpool.com
I usually go to a big chain book store and evaluate the books. take one or
two home to see if they're really worth having. If I can get a dramatically
better deal online I just return them and order online.
You just can't open the cd, use the book as a coaster, etc.

I know this is a Front Page newsgroup and I hesitate to ask... but do you
think I would be better off trying to learn Dream Weaver instead? Your
honest opinion. I have access to Dream Weaver... sooo. This is all coming at
a horrible time. I'm trying to do taxes and a million other things. The
hover colors on the links don't work. When I removed the www.webarchive.com
from the base href... then the colors for sure didn't work.

NO.
I say this even though I have both, and golive for good measure.
If you're having trouble with FrontPage you'll have even more with DW
(IMHO).
you'll either have to hire some (like me) to get you all fixed up, then use
FrontPage to maintain the project, or learn the basics which takes a long
time and isn't really necessary for someone who doesn't want to be a web
developer.
It's so much easier to just edit and update an existing web than it is to
make one from scratch.

You have reflected my inward thoughts. I figured it would take a while to
learn it. Yes, I think I can learn to maintain. I'm going to take your
advice. I wish that I could get the site re-done from scratch. It's such a
mess.
Thanks.
