Here's hoping yet again that some body can help!
My PC is almost full as it has only 512 ram. I have a lot of photos and a
lot of music.
I need to free up some space and when looking through my Add/Remove
Programs section I found "Text-to-speech Runtime". The size of this is at
4,095.00MB.
What I would like to know is ; What is it exactly? and Can I remove it
safely?
Any advice or help greatly appreciated, Thanks!!

Why don't you install an external drive or why don't you burn these files
on CD.

That size is not reliable.
"How does Add/Remove Programs get the size and other information?"

It is a program that changes text to speech (audio). If you never use it it
can be deleted.

No, you are mixing up two very different things: RAM, the thing you
have 512MB of, and hard drive space, the thing you probably have 60GB
or 80GB (or something like that) of.

You say "only" 512MB of RAM, but that is sufficient for most people
who don't run especially memory-demanding applications. RAM is the
place where your program and data load to run when you are using them.
Its contents disappear when you power off the computer.

Hard drive space is where you save your programs and data. What is
saved there stays there permanently, even when you power off, until
you delete or modify it. Your "Text-to-speech Runtime" is stored on
the hard drive.

How large is the hard drive, and how much of it is free? Open My
Computer, right-click "Local Disk (C:)," and choose properties to see.

If you have a lot of photos and music on your hard drive, you might
want to consider offloading them to other media, such as CDs, DVDs,
thumb drive, or external hard drive. That would likely free up a lot
of space.
