Hi all

Can I do a text to columns using {lf} (line feed), Alt+Enter as the
separator?

Thanks in advance for any help

I have found a way of doing this and thought I would post to help others. As
far as I can see there is no way to operate a text to columns function using
Alt+Enter as a separator, so you have to start by changing the line feeds
into something else. So it's a find and replace.
Edit>Find>
hold down Alt and type 010 release the Alt key. Replace with ",". Now you
can use text to columns.

I would like to thank PH NEWS from preventing several stressed employees from
ending it all by jumping out of the window after trying everything we could
think of to split up an enormous list of addresses that were in single cells,
lines separated by Alt+Enter. As the window is a) sealed and b) on the
ground floor, even that would have been unsuccessful... So we are doubly
grateful.

ALT + ENTER line feeds can be used directly in splitting text when using Text to
Columns.

In the Delimited by>Other box just put the ALT + 0010 same as you would in the
Edit>Find dialog.

Saves a step.

ctrl-j can be used instead of alt-0010, too.
