Text Insterter

B

Bert Hibberd

Prior to a crash on my XP computer I was using a little freeware
program that enabled me to press F10 and then any number between 1 and
10, which would insert a text string (e.g. email address, or some
other commonly used peice of text).

It optionally loaded at startup and used very little memory.

I've lost the file and can't remember what it was called. It was an
incredibly useful utility. So I'm wondering if anyone here knows it
and where it might be found?

Thanks

Two that will do the job for you are:

allchars from http://allchars.zwolnet.com The main program is to insert
hard-to-type symbols such as fractions. There is a superb separate
macrpo facility that does just what you want.

Another maco program is ShortCut, from www.typer.de.

The site is in German but you can choose English as you install, except
for the help file which is only in German. Great program, though.

PhraseExpress - doesn't use F10 but sets up other hot keys to do the
job. I have found it very good. Get it free at:-

I use Keyboard Remapper to assign some assign some macros to a couple
of function keys. http://www.dev-labs.com/kr/download.html
