Text box printing but not showing up on screen

I have a document that I use as a template that has a text box in it. The
text box has always shown up both on screen and when I print it. Today the
text box has stopped showing up on the screen, but shows up when I print (or
when I make the document into a pdf).

I really need to delete the text box, so I need for it to show up on screen.

I am using Office 2007, but the original document was created in an earlier
version (I don't remember which, 2003 maybe). Any suggestions are
appreciated!

Go to Office button > Word Options > Advanced, scroll down to the "Show document
content" area, and check the option "Show drawings and text boxes on screen".
 
FYI for anyone else with this problem - that option was already checked.
However, unchecking it and checking it again fixed the problem.
