temporary internet files cache

Made the mistake of downloading Mcafee and now I can't
change the settings on the temporary internet files
cache. Can anyone help?

it's in C:\Documents and Settings\default\Local
Settings\Temporary Internet Files. The location is
identified in Internet Options.
Open IE>Tools>Internet Options> General> here the default
setting is check for newer versions of stored pages>
automatically
and amount of disk space to use is 1192 mb for a 40 gb hard
disk

[By default it's normally set to around 3% of Hd]
with regards/ssg/pronetworks.org

It only gives an error message of "Set the value between

1 and 0..." Won't let me use the bar or UP/DOWN setting.
