I've been running my computer for about two months. I regularly use Disk
Cleanup and check Temporary Internet Files and Temporary files so they'll be
removed.

A few moments ago I took a look into C:\Windows\Temp. I have, amongst other
things, thirty-one folders with names like 03080902-135948901-123EN. All of
them contain files. All of them contain the file, NDU.exe. I googled it
and found a manual which is over one hundred pages and way over my head.

Can these folders be deleted?

I also have a folder called Notification0749. It contains a dozen files,
including warinstaller.exe and launchBrowser.exe. Can this folder be
deleted?

I think Disk cleanup only cleans your personal temp files
which are in a hidden folder located in 'C:\Documents and
Settings\(your user name)\Local Settings\Temp. It might
be prudent not to delete the 'windows\temp' files, as I'm
sure we all know what a tempremental beast XP can be!

Got it on which temp files Disk Cleanup cleans up. Thanks.

I didn't know about XP being temperamental. I was using 98 before. Now
~that~ was temperamental. Used to freeze on me several times a week. I've
been banging around with XP for over two months. I've noticed some minor,
odd phenomena, but it hasn't frozen once. and otherwise has worked very
nicely for me.

That's what I wanted to hear. Thanks, PA Bear.

: After rebooting, you may manually delete everything in C:\Windows\TEMP.
: Windows won't allow you to delete anything needed during the current boot.
