I downloaded a free template from the FP site. Installed it as instructed,
but can't seem to find it to open it, running FP 2003 with XP Pro.

In fact i can't find any templates, i have themes but no templates..

Any ideas what i'm doing wrong?

Thank in advance,

Chas D

Not unless you tell us what kind of template and where you installed it
Note:
FP2003 Page templates must be in the folder
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates\1033\PAGES11
And web templates in
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates\1033\WEBS11

There are other things to be considered as well.... version... templates vs packages vs restored sites..... lots of stuff. Was FrontPage opened when you extracted/installed the theme? I've just set up sample sites for all the templates/packages/webparts I could find, so I "think" I can help... just as I'm sure Stefan can
Which theme exactly??? and if possible... url of the download..

They're not where you would expect to find them. I think they're in Office Online.

The "template" must be in the right subfolder depending on the type of template

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates\1033\WEBS11 for webs
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates\1033\PAGES11 for pages
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates\1033\FRAMES11 for frames

The template folder goes in one of those

PS
check the download site to see if the template you downloaded supports FP2003
also check the template maker for more details on how to install in FP2003
