Hi,
We are using MS Excell 2000

We would like to share our templates.
Is there a way to select a commun directory on the network?
what setting do we have to change?

Thank you all.

hi,
you just need to have your network guy set up the
directory for you. we have a communal directory with a lot
of files that many people use mostly microsoft query file.

on Excel if you go to File then New
you can see a "Spreadsheet Solutions" tab

We would like to have our templates showing there.

Thnks

There are several ways to "network" an XL template.
If you have MS Office installed, going through Word is probably the easiest.
If you don't have Office or Word, there are still exclusive "XL" approaches
to accomplish networking.
The one thing that must be realized, is that you must make entries on
*EVERY* machine that you wish to access these templates.

Here's a link to using the Office method.

Post back if this doesn't help.

Hi
RagDyer, thanks for you posting

If you modify the folling key

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Common\General\Templates

And enter a full path like: N:\Documents\Excel\Templates

it works very well

Thnks

Thanks for the feed-back.
