Templates- Colour Changes

I am using a downoaded template, hae done a save as to a new doc an want to
change the colour theme.
Using Themes and colours dosn't seem to work.
Any ideas please.

Using Themes and colours dosn't seem to work.

changing Theme colors should change all colors used in the template that
are in fact, erm, theme colors. That means, if whoever build this
template used different colors (or an earlier version of Word), then
these colors will not update before you adjust the template.

What kind of things are there in color in this template that do not
update? Some "vector graphic" (AutoShapes maybe) colors might update
(most will not). Bitmap colors will not update at all.

If this is a template from http://office.microsoft.com/templates can you provide the link to the specific template and also advise
the version of Word you are using?

The definition/implementation of themes changed for Office 2007 from the Themes feature in prior Office versions.
