template with document content options

This is really a general request to be pointed in the right direction, rather
than seeking an answer to a specific question. I want to create a template
that will allow users to create and customise a document's content from a
menu of options. Some of these options might be 5-6 pages long, like chapters
with tables & graphics included. Perhaps all chapters are included in the
document but only the selected ones are visible or printed, somehow.

I would be grateful if someone could point me towards MVP article(s) that
would help or suggest methods that will help me achieve this in my template.
Thanks

Look into AutoText and the AutoTextList field. You can also create custom
toolbars and menus that have AutoText entries on them.

Thanks, the combination of autotext and a custom toolbar will achieve exactly
what I need. How does autotextlist field work?

The AutoTextList field can be used on a custom toolbar (see the
header/footer toolbar) but what I was referring to was actually putting the
AutoText entries on the toolbar in a custom menu. For info on the
AutoTextList field, see
