Template help

Does anyone here know of a template that I can use if I want to print letters
on yellow pad style stationary. I found one that works in OneNote, but it
will not work in word and I need it for word so I use my mailing lists. Any
help here would be greatly appreciated, since I'm going to make myself bald
pulling hair trying to get this to work! Thanks.

1. Some women like men with bald heads.

2. I've tried figuring out what it is that you want but I can't. Do you mean
you want some sort of template that prints out lines so that you can write
on it? What do mailing lists have to do with it?

JoAnn, hi and thanks for the reply.

If part one of your reply is true, maybe I'll try it. :))
As for what I'm trying to do, I already have the lined yellow paper. I'm
trying to get a template that when I when I print out the letters, it will
print them with the proper spacing so that the text is sitting on the line
not above or below it. I've already tryed adjusting the spacing to get the
text to sit on the lines, but I can't get the spacing to work. The text will
line up on the first line ok but no matter how I adjust the spacing by the
second or third line the text creeps either above, below or right in the
middle of the line. That's why I was looking for a template.

1. Yes, it is true. I'm one of those women who prefers a man with a receding
hairline. Growing hair is a waste of hormones. ;-)

2. What you want can be done but it's a b*tch. You're going to have to
create the template yourself and fuss with the spacing. You could try
scanning it in and putting text boxes where you want them but I've found
that by the time you print your docs, they aren't quite right either. Have
you considered just creating a form?

1. Hmmmm have to think about that.
2. "it's a b*tch" don't I know it ! By creating a form, do you mean something in access? I haven't had to play around with a dbase for years, or can I create a form in word. Actually I'm sure you probably can, I just didn't think of it. Duh! I'm not that familiar with word either, but if you can point me in the right direction I can probably figure it out. I don't want to monopolize your time here so if you'd like you can email me ( (e-mail address removed) ) with any suggestions you may have if that works better for you. I realy have no choice but to get this working somehow, its part of a marketing campaign I am about to start and using the yellow paper is esential. Thank you for all your help JoAnn, I realy appreciate it.

Mike Ryan.
P.S. I have office 2007 if that helps.

Carefully measure the distance between the lines on the paper. If you can
get the first line of type in the right place, you can ensure that the rest
will follow by formatting the paragraphs with Exact line spacing. For
example, if the lines are 0.25" apart, you set the line spacing to Exactly
18 points (72 points = 1 inch).

Thanks Suzanne, I've done the math and the spacing is 11/32 of an inch which
works out to .3475 or approx 24.7499999802 pt. So, I'll give it a try thanks.

Holy smokes, what are you doing up so late/early?

Thanks, I'll take a look. I'm also going to try getting the spacing to work
again, another lady posted exactly how many points are in an inch so after
doing a little math who knows that may solve the problem. I have my doubts,
but that's just the pessimist in me :)) Thanks again JoAnne and get some
sleep!

There are a couple of excellent sites with instructions on how to creaate
forms. It's going to take patience but in the long run, it's worth it. :)

I got it, I got it, I got it, I finaly got it ! What a pain in the rear.
Thanks for the info regarding points per inch, that and getting the top
margin set correctly did the trick oh and flipping the paper over so that the
cut off end was on the bottem. Thanks again both of you, I really appreciat
your patience and help. If anyone else ever asks you about this again, tell
them to make sure the top of the page is EXACTLY 1.25 inches to the very
first line (not the line you write on), set the top margin to 1.2 and the
spacing to exactly 24.75 pt with a left margin at 1.45 and no spaces between
paragraphs. That's what worked for me. Now if I can find a decent hand
writting font (I'm using freestyle script at 20 pt for now) I'll be one super
happy camper.

I think I sent that this morning. I get to work at 6 a.m. so that I havea
about an hour before all chaos breaks out. The benefit is that at 2:30 I'm
either out of here on start on time and a half. ;-)

Suzanne is the Word Whiz. Beleive me - if she has a solution: USE IT! I am a
flunkie compared to her skills with word.

Glad you got it working, but note that this is just for the paper you happen
to be using; there's no guarantee that a legal pad from a different supplier
would be laid out exactly the same. <g>
